🏁 Technical Regulations for the “Modify” Class

The technical regulations for race vehicles in the “Modify” class are based on original factory engine specifications (OEM) with specific restrictions in place to prevent unauthorized changes to engine type or structural modifications that violate competition rules.

Modifications are allowed under the condition that the core engine structure must remain unchanged, specifically:

  1. Engine Block / Crankcase
➡️ Must be the original factory engine from the same model as the registered race bike.
  2. Number of Cylinders & Configuration
➡️ For example, if the production model uses an inline 4-cylinder, this layout must be maintained.
  3. Crankshaft Position
➡️ Modifying or relocating the crankshaft to change engine characteristics is prohibited.

Definition of “Modify”

“Modify” refers to the freedom granted to competitors to alter, replace, or adapt internal engine components while maintaining the OEM structural foundation. There are no performance limits, provided the engine originates from a manufacturer-approved motorcycle model that is used in the actual race.

Permitted Modifications (with conditions):

  • Camshaft
→ Camshaft angle, lift, or design may be changed without restriction.
  • ECU / Fuel System
→ Use of standalone ECUs, piggyback units, fuel injectors, fuel pumps, and other components is allowed freely.
  • Exhaust System
→ No restrictions on materials (e.g. titanium, carbon, stainless steel), design, or throttle body size.
  • Quickshifter / Launch Control
→ Installation and use are permitted.
  • Cylinder Head
→ Aftermarket heads are allowed if they match the original engine mount positions.
→ No limits on valve size, number, material, porting, or camshaft configuration.
  • Cylinder Block
→ May be modified or replaced, but must be mounted to the original engine case mounting points without changing the structural layout.
  • Crankshaft
→ Custom or lightweight crankshafts are allowed if designed for the specific model.
  • Clutch System
→ Upgraded clutches and slipper clutches are permitted.
  • Stroke / Bore
→ May be modified to increase or decrease engine displacement (cc) based on race strategy.
